Back to Exhibits

Pan-American

After his election in 1888, Benjamin Harrison set forth a visionary policy to reimagine and strengthen the bonds of friendship and trade between the countries of North and South America. Hoping to bring prosperity, peace, and open trade, he oversaw the first Pan-American Conference in 1889, setting the stage for mutual cooperation for a century to come. Learn more about the evolution of the relationship between the countries of North and South America throughout the history of our nation and how those connections effect our lives today in the latest exhibit at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, Pan-American: Bonds of Prosperity and Peace, open to the public with admission from May-December 2023.
