2021 Candlelight Theatre Season

After 18 years of partnership, the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site and Candlelight Theatre are proud to announce the 2021 theatre season!

We will start the season with Death in the Library by Jo Smedley as the company’s spring show. The April 2021 performances guests will work in teams of eight, guests will interrogate the suspects, gather clues, and solve the crime. A prize will be awarded to the winning team each evening.

  • Death in the Library | April 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, 30,  May 1, 2021 | Performances begin at 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sunday

The season will continue in the Summer of 2021 with Not/Guilty by James Trofatter. This one hour drama with an audience talkback highlights the infamous murder trial of Nancy Clem. The prosecuting attorney, Benjamin Harrison, and Nancy Clem rejoin in the afterlife to discuss exactly how the murder and trial unfolded.

  • Not/Guilty| July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2021 | Performances begin at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sunday

Join us in December with ‘Tis the Season by resident playwright, James Trofatter. Join us as we share these traditions with characters that leap from the pages of history and legend through wonderful folklore and compelling stories.

  • ‘Tis the Season | December  10, 11, 12  2021 | Performances begin at 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sunday, with show times every half hour
