Independence Day Social

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of patriotic fun featuring free first-floor tours of the historic residence, patriotic music, hands-on crafts, yard games, balloon artists, and festive treats available for purchase. Guests can explore the grounds at their own pace while enjoying a variety of family-friends experiences throughout the day, including historical interpretation, a Benjamin Harrison lookalike contest, and more.

As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration fo Independence, join us in celebrating the people, stories, and traditions that continue to sharpe the emerican experience. Whether you stay for an hour or the whole afternoon, the Independence Day Social is the perfect way to kick off your Independence Day celebrations in the heart of Indianapolis.

11:00 | Event Opens
Enjoy free first-floor tours, crafts, yard games, balloon artists, concessions, and family-friendly activities throughout the grounds.

11:15 | Welcome Remarks & National Anthem
Kick off the celebration with opening remarks and a community sing-along of the National Anthem.

12:30 | Civil War Soldier Interpretation
Meet a Civil War soldier interpreter and hear stories from America’s past during this interactive historical presentation.

1:30 | Benjamin Harrison Lookalike Contest
Show off your best presidential beard and compete in our lookalike contest judged by Benjamin Harrison himself! Prizes for the best Benjamin Harrison will be awarded to one child and one adult.

2:00 | Event Concludes
Thank you for celebrating Independence Day with us at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site!
