Garden Party

Saturday, May 16, 2026 10:00 am- 2:00 pm EST

Celebrate the beauty of spring at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site’s Garden Party on May 16! This enchanting event is free to attend and perfect for garden enthusiasts and families alike. Our historic gardens will be in full bloom, featuring the breathtaking peony garden—a nod to Indiana’s state flower. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Gardening Experts | Ongoing | Our master gardeners will be on-site to answer your questions and share insights about our gardens.
  • Historic Garden Tours | 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, & 2:00 PM | Join a tour of the historic plantings on the property of the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. From a Millennium Landmark Oak Tree to heirloom varietals of Peonies, you will find new appreciation in the beauty of the grounds after this tour.
  • Floriography Garden Tours | 11:00 AM & 1:00 PM | Learn about the Victorian era Floriography or “Language of the Flowers” which was used to hide secret meanings in plain sight during the more restrictive time of the Victorians.
  • Picnic on the Grounds: Relax on the beautiful lawn. Wine and cheese platters will be available for purchase, or bring your own refreshments to enjoy picnic-style.

Come enjoy a day of history, beauty, and community at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site!
