Be among the first to experience UNCONVENTIONAL, the latest exhibit at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, opening January 23, 2025! Join us for an evening of wine, appetizers, and history as we unveil this exciting exploration of three remarkable civic leaders from the Harrison era.
UNCONVENTIONAL spotlights the intertwined legacies of Andrew Carnegie, May Wright Sewall, and Frederick Douglass—visionaries who broke barriers and championed civic rights alongside the 23rd President of the United States.
The “Unconventional” exhibit is made possible through the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site’s Capps Curatorial Fellow collaboration with the Indiana University Indianapolis Museum Studies program. The initiative seeks to share the Presidential Site’s nationally significant collection in meaningful and relevant ways, while providing unique opportunities for emerging museum professionals to engage in collaborative training, hands-on experience, conservation, preservation, and innovative exhibit design. The 2025 Capps Curatorial Fellow is Grace Collier.
