Get inspired for Independence Day – join the Federal Courts at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site for a powerful celebration of citizenship, democracy, and the American story as we welcome our nation’s newest citizens during our annual Naturalization Ceremony!
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this ceremony offers a glimpse into one of the most meaningful expressions of the American experiment. In a moment that is both deeply personal and profoundly moving, individuals from around the world will take the Oath of Citizenship and officially become Americans.
President Benjamin Harrison once said, “An American citizen could not be a good citizen who did not have a hope in his heart.” As the nation approached America 250, this ceremony reminds us that hope continues to bring people together across generations and backgrounds.
This ceremony is free and open to the public – community members are encouraged to attend to celebrate our newest citizens!
“The manner by which women are treated is a good criterion to judge the true state of society.” Benjamin Harrison
