Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony

Thursday, August 20, 2026 9:00 - 10:00 am EST

Join representatives for the U.S. Armed Forces, the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, and the Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at Crown Hill Cemetery for a longstanding annual tradition honoring the life and legacy of President Benjamin Harrison.

Since 1967, the sitting President of the United States has sent a commemorative wreath to be placed on the grave of each former president on their birthday. During this special ceremony, that wreath will be presented and laid at President Harrison’s gravesite with military honors.

This year’s ceremony holds special significance as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of American Independence while celebrating the 193rd birthday of President Benjamin Harrison. The public is invited to join us for this meaningful tribute to America’s Hoosier President. No ticket or reservation is needed for this event.

“The emancipation proclamation was heard in the depths of the earth as well as in the sky; men were made free, and material things became our better servants.” Benjamin Harrison
