Garden Party

Celebrate the beauty of spring at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site’s Garden Party on May 18! This enchanting event is free
to attend and perfect for garden enthusiasts and families alike. Our historic gardens will be in full bloom, featuring the breathtaking
peony garden—a nod to Indiana’s state flower. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Plant Sale: Bring a piece of history home with you! Plants from the Presidential Site’s gardens will be available for purchase.
  • Gardening Experts: Our master gardeners will be on-site to answer your questions and share insights about our gardens.
  • Self-Guided Tours: Pick up a historic garden map and explore the diverse gardens on the property at your own pace.
  • Picnic on the Grounds: Relax on the beautiful lawn. Wine and cheese platters will be available for purchase, or bring your
own non alcoholic refreshments to enjoy picnic-style.
  • Johnston Photo Challenge: Named in honor of White House Photographer Francis Benjamin Johnston, we
invite you to capture the beauty of the gardens or grounds with your phone and enter by tagging #
JohnstonPhotoChallenge for a chance to win a Citizens Level Membership and Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site Guidebook!

For an added touch of creativity, join our Make & Take: Peony Bouquets class (registration required). Learn the art of Victorian
floral design, create your own arrangement to take home, and enjoy Sip & Share Wine, available for purchase. This two-hour workshop can only
accommodate up to 20 participants, so don’t miss your chance to sign up!

Come enjoy a day of history, beauty, and community at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site!
