"June 1901
1214 North Delaware Street
Each morning my dear
daughter – Elizabeth
when your father
lay in his casket
I put a fresh
bunch of violets
on his breast &
it lay there until
the following morning
when fresh ones I
placed there, These
are some of them
These my darling
child are some of violets
lilies of the valley
& forget me nots
which lay on your
father’s breast the
day before he was
laid at rest
I laid them
there each day
Dried flowers are between the sheets
